Here you will
find a potpourri of thoughts, writings & poems
For
me, writing and editing has been an adventure to many places within and
beyond
myself. Often the challenge was to take common, everyday things then
add a
twist. Another challenge was in the editing, deleting the unnecessary,
leaving
the essence.
A
number of stories are flights of fantasy, the ideas developed years ago
and
many were written with a loving heart. Then there were those that grew,
turned
and twisted, writing themselves. Some stories, simple and sweet, were
rewritten
at the suggestions of others into more horrifying tales.
I
have many people to thank for this collection of speculative stories
and
novels. Family, friends and critiquers, who gave of their time, effort,
suggestions, support, encouragement and yes, discouragement, all played
a part
in these writings.
I
give thanks to you all.

More
love than you can imagine
And forever to enjoy it
Peace of mind
A soul content
With spirit light
Your funny bone tickled
And someone to share the
laughter
Warm fuzzies and soft
places
Wisdom and understanding
Joy and happiness
All these I wish
for you

Rhonda
the Dawn
The dawn comes clear and fresh with promise, purpose and understanding.
As dawn
opens the day, so does the heart. Dawn is optimistic, wanting to share
joy with
others. It gives the world encouragement and enlightenment by example.
Trusting
people and their goodness, dawn knows that love is strength. Dawn is
the ever
new beginning, again and again.
Strength
comes from a willingness to accept the past while looking forward with
the
certainty that the future will be filled with love. Dawn is light
streaked with
a rainbow of colored promises.
Rae
Ann the Day
Day is sunny by nature of thought and deed. As honest of heart as the
day is
long, day is willingness to do, willingness to give and be forgiving.
Day wraps
the world in sunshine and love, offering a bright light for others to
follow.
Finding happiness in the sound of laughter, day sees beauty and promise
in all
things. Day is the time of doing, loving and laughing.
Strength
comes from looking up with devotion, seeing goodness and believing that
it is
so. Day is warm blue with rays of golden trust.
Randa
Lee the Evening
The evening is the time
to transcend, to see things in
perspective. It is
thoughtful and gentle, seeing both sides without judgment. It brings
together
people and events, wrapping them in joy. It is the time to understand
the value
of the pieces, small and large, that make the whole. Evening is the
appreciation of that which was and that which will be.
Strength
comes from following love's path, giving and caring, while accepting
the same
without hesitation or question. Like the sunset, evening glows red,
warmed by golden shards of love.
Merlina
Rene' the Night
The night is peaceful and quiet with smoldering strength sleeping below
the
surface. It is a time of renewal, of seeking and understanding by
looking
within. Hugging the world in her protective arms, night sees light in
darkness,
good in evil. Night is the time for dreaming of a brighter day,
trusting in
tomorrow, knowing that dreams do come true.
Strength
comes from knowing there is more and that all things are possible... if
you
believe in your dreams. Night is soft with celestial lights caressing
an amber
moon.

Spring
Spring
flies in
on gentle wings of anticipation.
It is the time of awakening, birth, and the promises of things to come.
Spring
is the time of trusting and seeking understanding of the greatness of
the most
insignificant of things. It is the time to understand how important we
are in
the Divine Scheme. Spring is the starting time. Spring is the new time.
The
days lengthen, the heart quickens and spring whispers in our ear.
Summer
Summer
soars high
and sweeps low on brightly
colored wings, painting the world with joy. Summer
is bountiful, encouraging. The colors are brighter, the smells more
fragrant,
the sounds clearer. It is the time of rejoicing. Summer reminds us each
of our
own beauty and the beauty of our Higher Power. We must work harder and
play
harder to match Summer’s tempo. Summer, forever generous, gives us
longer days
to witness her beauty.
Fall
We
hear Fall’s
flutter of wings and the sound
fills our hearts with awe. As we inhale Fall’s aroma we breathe in her
glory. Fall, Nature’s
artist, paints our
hearts with love as she paints the leaves. Fall is proof that aging is
beautiful
when done with joy. Now is the time to look back and take inventory. If
we have
unfinished things to do, Fall is the time to complete our tasks. The
days are
getting shorter, we should hasten with Fall’s song in our hearts.
Winter
Winter
spreads her protective wings over the land as Mother Earth slips into
slumber, renewing
her life force. Winter is the test of faith with the promise of life
upon
awaking. Winter strengthens our souls with steadfastness and warms our
hearts
with hope. In winter we have time to summon the past and plan the
future.
Winter softens her powerful force with longer nights for us to sleep
and dream of
tomorrow, wherever that might be.
Charles
is an
artist. One of his many talents is
the carving of walking staffs. The first time I saw Charles was in
sculpture
class at Fullerton
College.
The room filled
with expectation as he walked to the dressing area. Charles
returned,
draping the towel he carried
over the stool in the middle of the room. A handsome, charismatic black
man of
average height, he wore his matured, well-defined body with natural
ease and
dignity. He was our model.
Most
models take
a relaxed pose because holding
a still position for four hours is difficult. If Charles extended one
arm, he
contracted the other. With only short breaks to relax muscles strained
by
inactivity, this can be demanding. He possessed the uncanny ability to
resume
the same pose days later, his body maintaining the memory of the
position. This
pose became the clay model for the male in my bronze set, Adam and Eve.
I
invited Charles
to one of my art shows.
Afterwards, he and his delightful wife, along with other friends, came
back to
our home. I was impressed with his grace as he listened and then
answered
questions with his soft voice. I marveled at the openness he invoked in
others.
Charles modeled
for the class the next year. This
time he posed in a semi-prone position. As I worked, something
wonderful
happened. I saw more than just my clay and the model. I envisioned
Charles in
another time, another place, complete with background, color and sound.
I never
saw Charles after that class. I have a
photo of my work, Adam and Eve, which he posed for, as well as one of
me
sculpting in oil based clay, the last piece for which Charles modeled.
You can
